Melvin Korns, eldest son of Allen & Gladys (Bittner) Korns
This is an index of material I have begun about my uncle Melvin Lester Korns, who was a son of Allen & Gladys (Bittner) Korns. He lived on and eventually took over the Southampton Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania dairy farm of his father. He also drive school bus for Meyersdale for more than 40 years.
Melvin was born on April 8, 1926, died on April 24, 2016, and is buried in the Cook Cemetery. He married Dolores G. Shaffer on December 17, 1948 and they had one son and three daughters. On two occasions he was the Maple King of the Meyersdale Maple Festival. Melvin and Dolores attended the Mt. Harmony United Methodist Church at nearby Wellersburg, Pennsylvania.
I will add to this as time permits. Currently, this is just an article stub.
