The following five Philson School-related photos are from the photo album of Allen and Gladys (Bittner) Korns of Southampton Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania (my maternal grandparents, who were married on August 25, 1925). The first image below is an undated photo of Gladys with her students at the Philson School. She is the adult at the left rear, below the letter "h" in "Philson".
The next photo shows Gladys with students from the 1922-1923 school year. Gladys is the adult at the right rear.
The next photo shows students at the Philson School in 1924. Judging from a comparison with the hair and clothing styles in the other 1924 group photo, Gladys isthe adult person near the left, with her hand on the horse.
The next photo shows Gladys with her students at the Philson School in 1924. She is the woman sitting in the back.
The next photo shows Gladys at the Bittner school in 1924.
The next photo below was provided to Korns.org by Mike McKenzie, and shows the Philson School. The photo was taken somewhere around the late 1980's or early 1990's by Mike's father, who attended the Philson School. According to Mike, the approximate location of the Philson School was 39.813736, -78.890954.
The following image is a composite of two different photos of the same subject: An undated photo of students at the Philson School sitting on a paper that lists the names of the students. The photos were provided by Mike McKenzie. To help to date the subject photo, Mike reports that Joan McKenzie, fifth person from the left in the front row, was born in 1928.
