A biography of William H. Korns is provided on pages 89 & 90 of the 1949 book "The Genealogy of Michael Korns, Sr. of Somerset County Pennsylvania. In regards to the "Wyoming Derrick", the Korns book states "In the spring of 1895 the family moved to Casper, Wyoming, which was the terminal of the F. E. and M. V. R. R. and before oil had become the principal commodity of production. W. H. owned and edited the "Wyoming Derrick" and became the leader of the local Democrats in which has since been stated was the most bitterly fought political campaign in Natrona County."
