The following vintage photo, which was provided by Mike McKenzie, is one of a number of railroad-related photos that were rescued from some Cumberland, Maryland area trash years ago by one of Mike's friends.
The photo shows two wrecker cranes working to clear a Baltimore & Ohio derailment on a railroad embankment at an unknown location. A man wearing a suit and tie, an overcoat, and a brimmed hat is visible at the lower left. One car slid down the embankment and impacted a telephone pole. The leaf-off nature of trees in the photo helps to narrow-down the time of year when the wreck occurred.
