The photos below were provided by Mike McKenzie. They, and other railroad-related photos, were rescued from some Cumberland, Maryland area trash a number of years ago by one of Mike's friends.
I think all of the photos pertain to the same train wreck. In regards to the first photo below, Mike reports that the location appears to be in the Narrows, near the the present day (2009) "Fruit Bowl" market. That photo shows that debris hit the tower.

The next photo shows a steam-powered crane at the accident location. The large white ampersand that is visible in the photo above is also visible in this photo, and the white tower looks the same.
