The following obituary transcript was provided to Korns.org by Andy Petenbrink. From another obituary of Emanuel's brother Joseph H. Korns, it seems apparent that it relates to the son of Daniel Korns, Jr. and his wife Caroline (Tressler) Korns.
"Emanuel Korns, 68 years old, a farmer of near Alverton, died suddenly at his home, at 6 o’clock Saturday evening, supposedly of heart failure. He had been ill for a short time. He was born in Somerset county in 1849, but lived at Alverton for many years. He was a life member of the Reformed church. A widow and three children, two sons and a daughter, survive. Funeral services Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Alverton Church of God, Rev. S. U. Waugaman, pastor of the Reformed church of Scottdale, officiating. Interment in Alverton cemetery. The Weekly Courier, Connellsville, Pennsylvania, August 9, 1917"
