The will of Daniel Korns, Sr. includes the statement, "I Give and bequeath unto my Beloved wife Elizabeth, Korn all my Real and Formal property during her natural life … or as long as her (?) Shall remain My widow after my Death." Accordingly, the estate of Daniel Korns, Sr. didn't begin to be settled until after the death of his wife Elizabeth. The following notice of her death was published in the March 26, 1873 issue of the "Somerset Herald" newspaper.
