John and Susan (Korns) Shearer
Chapter VII of the 1949 book "The Genealogy of Michael Korns, Sr. of Somerset County Pennsylvania" indicates that Susanna Korns, daughter of Michael Korns, Sr., married John Shaver. The following excerpt from the 1908 book "Prominent and Representative Men of Indianapolis and Vicinity" indicates that Susan Korns, a native of Somerset County and a daughter of Michael Korns, Sr., married John Shearer. The excerpt provides a confused description of Susan's father Michael Korns, Sr., incorrectly stating that he was a physician in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. Whether right or wrong, the excerpt also indicates that Michael Korns "was for seven years a drummer in the Revolutionary War..." The most valuable part of the excerpt appears to be a list of the children of John and Susan (Korns) Shearer.
