Lepley Sugar Water Tap, Somerset County, Pennsylvania

A sheet metal sugar water tap that was purchased at a 1970s auction in Southampton Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania.

Another view of the old sugar water tap, shown with a ruler to illustrate the size of the item.

This is an antique sugar water tap that was found in a bucket of old Lepley gunsmithing hardware at the estate sale of Alonzo Lepley in Southampton Township, Somerset County, PA in the early 1970's. You drill a hole into the tree, then drive the tap in. The tap holds the sugar water pail and lets the sugar water drip into the pail. This is the only item in the bucket that wasn't a gunsmithing tool or a rifle part.
