The lock photos
The following two photos, which were provided by Stephen Miller of BV Colonial Crafts, show a Whitmore & Wolff lock before and after the lock plate was cleaned. The stamping "WHITMORE & WOLFF PITTSBURGH" was more legible after the lock was disassembled and cleaned. Click here to see photographs of the rifle this lock is mounted on.

The next two photos show what I believe to be Whitmore & Wolff locks, where one of the names is missing due to uneven stamping and/or lock plate corrosion. The rifle the second lock is mounted on was made by William Sink, an ancestor of the present (2025) owner.
