Wilson Korns family farm

This photograph shows the Korns family home that was owned by Daniel Korns, Jr., John Wilson Korns, and then Allen Korns. What most interests me about this picture is the primitive, relatively unworn condition of the road that runs past the house (now known as Walnut Lane. That’s the Korns farmhouse in the background. The white chimney that is visible in later photos of the house does not appear to be present in this photo.

I knew most of the people in the photograph personally, and their birthdays help to date the picture. When my mother, Uncle Melvin and Aunt Dolores visited here in 2009, one or more of them identified the individuals as follows, left to right: Mary Elizabeth (Geiger) Korns (b. 1867 d. 1931), Lester Korns (b. 1909 d. 1998), Ella (Lepley) Korns (b. 1891 d. 1969), Lucretia (Korns) Sturtz, (b. 1915 d. 2011), and my grandmother Gladys Edna (Bittner) Korns (b. 1904 d. 1976).
