These 2001 scans are from an 1896 "McGuffey's Eclectic Primer" that now belongs to a descendant of Allen Korns of Southampton Township, Somerset County, PA. The top scan is a sample page to show what the book looked like inside. The bottom scan with the Allen Korns name is from the inside of the back cover. The name was written in pencil and traced in ink; I recall that Allen's wife Gladys (my grandmother) often traced over old names in books when they were fading; this may be her ink work.
