Lavina (Bowman) Geiger, wife of Aaron Geiger

This photograph of Lavina (Bowman) Geiger, wife of Aaron Geiger and mother of Mrs. John Wilson Korns, was handed down in the Wilson Korns family line. Lavina died Feb. 9, 1890 at the age of 50, which means she was born circa 1840.

I believe that Lavina Bowman's parents may have been John Bauman and his wife Elizabeth (Marteeny) Bauman. One reason I believe this is because an anonymous paper at the Historical and Genealogical Society of Somerset County PA titled "Bauman Family Ancestors" indicates that they had a child named Lavina who died in 1890; this child was listed between other children who were born in 1837 and 1846. Another reason I believe this is because in March of 1995 I received a letter from Peg Adams of New Carlisle, IN that stated "Re Bowman, Dolores Swaney sent me a chart on John and Elizabeth who did have a daughter named Lavina who married Aaron Geiger, Her source is The Bauman Family by Clara Edna Hoffman.
