The annotation on the back of the photograph was written by Samuel S. Baer's daughter Margaret (Baer) Ackerman. When my uncle Ralph Dietle died in November of 2023, he left me an identical photograph, and I think Margaret (Baer) Ackerman gave it to him.
I recognize this Greenville Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania farm from being there several times after it became a church camp. The house was still there the last time I visited. Before Herman, the farm belonged to Nicholas Deitle. The gps coordinates for the house are 39.75597217361052, -79.00957798242372.
The next photo of the farm is one I took in 2013. It was taken from a different location, compared to the photo above.
