This photo of Nicholas Deitle and his wife Mary (Rembold) Deitle was provided by David Meese. Nicholas was a Civil War veteran. He and his wife lived in Greenville Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania, near the Greenville Lutheran Church. The photo was taken by Samuel S. Baer.
When he died in 2023, Ralph Dietle left the following photo of Nicholas Dietle to me. David Meese gave me another original copy of the same photograph in 2023. David obtained his copy from Margaret (Baer) Ackerman. Based on the writing on the back of the pictures, I think Ralph did too.
