The picture below shows a few of the training certifications my father Roy Emerson Dietle received.

The blueprint reading training certification was in connection with his employment as a machinest at Westinghouse, after we moved to Mercer County, Pennsylvania. Back when I was a kid, he also told me that had a class in blueprint reading when he was attending some sort of trade school in Cumberland, Maryland back when we were living on the Korns farm in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. I think that trade school was where he learned to be a machinist.

The 1964 oil furnace training course occurred when he was working for the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau Cooperative. The 1967 oil furnace training course occurred after Farm Bureau merged with Agway. In the same general timeframe, dad and a carload of other men drove out to somewhere in the Midwest for advanced training as repair technicians.
