The following pictures of the Zimmerman School were provided by Donna Knupp, who reports that:
The school was located in the village of Zimmerman in Somerset Township.
Most of the students were the children of miner families.
Milton Baker (1890-1984) from the village of Husband taught at the Zimmerman School for many years.
All of her father's family attended the Zimmerman School until they transferred to the Somerset High School.
The pictures include her uncle Fred Knupp (1923-1999), who is identified with a slash in both pictures. In the first picture, Fred is the fourth child from the right in the third row from the top. In the second picture, Fred is the middle of three boys in the second row from the top. The slashes were added to the pictures by Donna's aunt.
In the pictures, many of the students are barefoot.
The unincorporated community of Zimmerman is about 3.6 road-miles north-northwest from the approximate center of the town of Somerset, Pennsylvania. I didn't find the Zimmerman School on any of the topographic maps I examined.
