This 1999 photograph shows an intact window frame on the rear (north) side of the historic farmhouse on the Michael Korns, Sr. family homestead in Somerset County, PA, and shows the decorative molding at the top of the wall.
Although I haven't researched it, the decorative molding appears to be machined end-mill style. It probably dates to the time when some of the siding (at least the siding on the front of the house) was replaced post circa-1883.
