This 1999 photograph shows the foundation support for the fireplace of the old farmhouse on the Michael Korns, Sr. family homestead in Southampton Township, Somerset County, PA. Some of the older houses in the area have fireplaces in the basement below the main fireplace for heavy cooking, this particular chimney does not. It also does not have an attachment point for a stove flue.
