This photo of Maria (Cleeland) Pattison is referenced by Arthur Kelty Cleeland in one of his civil war letters. In a January 15, 1862 letter, Arthur wrote the following to Maria: well if the Lord is willing when I get my money I will send you my picture and send you money enough to get yours taken.
