That Robert Osborne later became a Merrill's Marauder and a Marsman.
Marsman refers to soldier[s], who were members of Mars Task Force, who fought in the North and Central Burma Campaign Area and the Burma, Ledo, and Stillwell Roads.
...Carl Seltzer died in 1977.
Both Robert Osborne and Carl Seltzer are grandsons of William Morrison Cleeland. Mabel Cleeland, WMC's youngest daughter married Olaf Seltzer, the artist. Elizabeth Mary Cleeland, WMCs 2nd oldest daughter, married George Newton Osborne. Uncle Morrison's wife was married to Morrison Evans Cleeland, WMC's only son.
Robert Osborne's full name is Robert John Cleeland Osborne
Carl's full name is Carl Cleeland Seltzer.
Uncle Morrison's wife is Elizabeth Gibney, who was married to Morrison Evans Cleeland, the Civil War soldier's one and only son. Morrison and his family were civilian prisoners of war in the Santo Tomas Internment Camp in the Philippines: https://cnac.org/emilscott/santotomas01.htm

William Morrison Cleeland's niece reported that William Morrison Cleeland played in the band for the second Inauguration of Abraham Lincoln, and for his funeral.
