Addison Cleland

 

ADDISON CLELAND was a resident of Butler County , Pennsylvania . He was a member of Company C, One Hundredth Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers (�Roundheads).  He enlisted as a private August 31, 1861, promoted to full sergeant Nov 13, 1862 and died Feb 5, 1863 of disease in Falmouth , VA.  His service record shows he was born 19 May 1840.

   He is buried at Portersville Bible Church Cemetery[i] at Muddy Creek Township , Butler County , Pennsylvania in a family plot, which grouping includes his parents and four of his siblings:

Mrs. Mary Cleland, his mother, never petitioned the federal government for a pension, which she would have been more than entitled.
