There is a tombstone for a Diederich Geiger at the White Oak Cemetery in Larimer Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania. Diederich Geiger is believed to be the early Larimer Township setter who is called Richard Geiger in early records. The tombstone indicates that Diederich Geiger died on January 6, 1856.
The first image below is from page 102 of the baptism records of the Falkner Swamp Reformed Church, and lists the May 31, 1789 baptism of a Joh. Dieterick Geiger, son of Johanes and Elizabeth Geiger, who was born on January 18, 1789. I don't know a lot about Geiger genealogy, but I do know that when I received this image back in 1999, it was believed to be the baptism record for the Diederich Geiger who is buried at the White Oak Cemetery.
The second and third images below are from page 103 of the baptism records of the Falkner Swamp Church. They are included because the year "1789" shows up more clearly, and another Geiger baptism is listed.
The fourth image below is part of the e-mail that accompanied the images when they were sent to me on April 10, 1999. The e-mail addresses of the sender and recipients are redacted and are presumably obsolete. The sender reports using the burial record (presumably information on the tombstone) to establish a birth date of January 18, 1789 for the Diederich Geiger who is buried at the White Oak Cemetery. Richard Nellans' transcription indicates that Diederich Geiger's age at death was 66 years, 11 months, and 18 days, and that seems correct based on a photograph of the somewhat eroded tombstone that I have seen.
