The obituary of Alexander Korns that follows below was published in the May 5, 1897 issue of the "Somerset Herald" newspaper. Alexander Korns was the son of Michael Korns, Jr.; see pages 162-164 of the 1949 book "The Genealogy of Michael Korns, Sr. of Somerset County Pennsylvania".
The following excerpt is from the 1906 book "History of Bedford and Somerset Counties Pennsylvania". It identifies Alexander Korns as the Director of the Poor in 1880.
