The following is a bit of an old VHS-based video that shows the Wittenburg school.

Ralph Dietle left the following undated picture of Wittenburg School students to me when he died. The teacher, Irvin H. Dietle, was Ralph's father and my grandfather. I (Lannie Dietle) was born in 1953, and I don't remember the school before it was covered with Insulbrick siding. I recognize Irvin H. Dietle in the photo (that adult on the left) but I don't recognize any of the students. Comparing this photo to the 2013 photo above, it appears fill dirt was added around the stone foundation after this photo was taken.

Marlene Henry reports that her brother Gary Boyce is the sixth individual from the right in the bottom row, wearing bib overalls. Marlene also reports that the second individual from the left in the bottom row is Sue Bowman and the third individual from the right is Joyce Petenbrink, who has a plaid collar. In the back row, Marlene indicates that the sixth individual from the right is Twila Petenbrink.

The following picture, which was provided by Fitzgerald Auction Services, shows the bell that Irvin Henry Dietle used on his desk during his teaching career. Marlene Henry, who attended the Wittenburg school from 1953 to 1959, reports that Irvin rang the bell at the ends of lunch and recess. The bell was sold at the estate sale of Irvin's son Ralph Dietle on March 11, 2024.
