JACOB COOK & wife to BENJAMIN KNEPPER, JEREMIAH WINGERT ET AL TTEES

This Indenture made this fourth day of October in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty five Between JACOB COOK and CATHERINE his wife of Southampton township Somerset county in the State of Pennsylvania parties of the first part and the REV'D BENJAMIN KNEPPER, JEREMIAH WINGERT, JOHN J. WITT & JOHN J. BITTNER of the township county and State aforesaid of trustees of the Lutheran and german reformed church at wellersburgh parties of the Second part witness that the parties of the first part for and in consideration of the Sum of Fifteen dollars to them in hand paid by the parties of the Second part doth hereby grant bargain Sell assign release and convey unto the Said BENJAMIN KNEPPER, JEREMIAH WINGERT, JOHN J. WITT and JACOB J. BITTNER Said trustees of the aforesaid Lutheran and german reformed church at wellersburgh all of a certain house lot of ground Situate in the town of wellersburgh Beginning at a post on the South Side of the plank road and running thence South Sixty degrees and one half degrees west two perches and one half perch to a line of the church property at Wellersburgh and with it north four degrees west four perches and one half perch to Said plank road and with it South thirty four degrees east four perches to the place of beginning let it contain what it may together with all and Singular the buildings improvements rights liberties privileges hereditaments and appurtenances thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the revisions remainders and rents issues and profits thereof to have and to hold Said lot of ground hereditaments and premises hereby granted with the appurtenances unto the Said BENJAMIN KNEPPER, JEREMIAH WINGERT, JOHN J. WITT and JACOB J. BITTNER the aforesaid trustee and their Successors to and for the only proper use & behoof and benefit of the Said Lutheran and german reformed church at wellersburgh forever, In witness whereof the Said JACOB COOK and CATHERINE his wife parties of the first part have here unto Set their hands and Seals the day and year aforesaid.

Personally appeared before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for Said county JACOB COOK and CATHRINE his wife and acknowledged the foregoing instrument of writing or written indenture to be their act and deed and desired the Same to be recorded as such and She the said CATHRINE COOK being of full age and b me Separate and apart from her Said husband examined and the contents of Said indenture fully made known to her on Said private examination and She declared that She did of her own free will and accord without any coercion or compulsion on the part of her said husband doth sign & deliver the Same. In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this fourth day of Oct AD 1855.
