Daniel Korns, promoted to Captain during the Civil War

The following excerpts show that Daniel Korns served in the Eightieth Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War. He joined the Regiment on October 28, 1861, and supervised the mustering in of Company K while serving as a First Lieutenant. On March 8, 1863 he was promoted to serve as the Captain of Company C.
