The following pages are from the 1917 book "Catalog of Beta Theta Pi". Column 633 lists Joseph Alexander Korns, Banker and John Hamilton Korns, Physician, Union Medical College, Peking, China. It lists John Hamilton Korns as receiving his A.B. in 1904 and his M.D. in 1909.
Page 120 of the 1949 book "The Genealogy of Michael Korns, Sr. of Somerset County Pennsylvania" indicates that Joseph Alexander Korns and John Hamilton Korns were sons of Silas Wright Korns. The book states "John Hamilton Korns, b. Oct. 7, 1883, married Bessie Lee Pennywitt, Sept. 6, 1907."
In reference to Joseph, the Korns genealogy book states "Joseph Alexander Korns, b. April 9, 1879, in Logan County, Ohio. He was a graduate of Mt. Victory High School in 1898, volunteered in the Spanish American War in 1898. Was a private in Co. G, Second O. V. I. He entered Ohio Wesleyan University in the fall of 1899 and graduated in June of 1902 at Delaware, Ohio. In the fall of 1902 he went to Long Beach, California, where he became connected with the First National Bank of Long Beach, California, returning to Ohio in June of 1894 to become connected with the Mt. Victory Bank, at Mt. Victory, Ohio, where he was actively connected with the bank there and also actively engaged in church and school affairs in that locality. Joseph A. Korns was married to Ethel Viola Williams on Oct. 4, ........ at Milan, Ohio."
