The "Dawson Purchase" tract
According to Volume 1 of the 1992 book “The Gaver Families: A Jigsaw Puzzle History”, Andrew Arnold sold the "Dawson Purchase" tract to Peter Miller on November 22, 1770. The creek referenced in the survey is Catoctin Creek, which is located west of the town of Frederick, Maryland and flows into the Potomac River at 39.309513436, -77.56690518. The 1741 survey of the "Dawson Purchase" tract was performed before Frederick County was formed from Prince George's County. There is a Frederick County "resurvey on Dawsons Purchase" (Patented Certificate 3391) that is referenced by the survey for Peter Miller's "Millers farm" tract. In the resurvey, Catoctin Creek is correctly spelled.
