The following obituary is from the Oct 30, 1911 issue of the "Athens Daily Messenger" newspaper:
"THAD LEPLEY DEAD.
Well Known Machinist Succumbs After a Lingering Illness.
Thaddeus E. Lepley 49, died at his home on The Plains Sunday morning about 7 o'clock, after a lingering illness of several years of diabetes. The funeral will be held Tuesday at Hebbardsville church under the auspices of the Masonic lodge and burial will be made at that place.
Mr. Lepley, who was an expert machinist, leaves a wife, two sons, three brothers, four sisters and a host of warm friends. For many years he lived in this vicinity. Later he lived near Hebbardsville and some months ago removed to The Plains."
