Here, below, are several references to the Statler family in Bedford and Somerset counties, Pennsylvania from the 1884 book "History of Bedford, Somerset and Fulton Counties, Pennsylvania". Casper Statler, Sr. is buried in Shade Township, Somerset County. His tombstone states, "Here Lyes the Body of Casper Stotler sen-r born the 18th of august AD 1743 and departed this Life, April the 12th in the year of our Lord 1798."
