An unpierced patch box attributed to the gunsmith Peter White

The photo below shows an antique unpierced patch box. The owner attributes this patch box to the gunsmith Peter White. I do not know the basis of the attribution, but I do know that the outer peripheral shape of this unpierced patch box matches that of a pierced patch box that is mounted on a muzzle loading long rifle attributed to Peter White that sold at auction for $15,000.00 on October 15, 2013. Peter White, however, isn't the only old-time gunsmith who used this finial shape.

The engraving incorporates what may be intended as a Masonic symbol: Dividers. The engraving also incorporates crossed rulers. I hesitate to agree with the Peter White attribution because the quality of engraving doesn't seem as good as I have seen on other Peter White rifles.
