Matthesiee inlaid & carved curly maple box

I found out about the box and the auction through correspondence with Jean Woods, who reports that the box sold for $15,600.00 at a 2024 auction. One of Jean's friends used to own the box, and as a result Jean was able to display the box at a a collector's group "show & tell". Here, below, is the display label Jean used at the show & tell.
