The following excerpt about Richard Wells is from Volume II of the 1906 book "History of Bedford and Somerset Counties Pennsylvania". An article in the May, 1966 issue of the "Laurel Messenger" newsletter indicates that Richard Wells' daughter Mary married John Doddridge. This contention is also supported by (and was probably derived from) an appendix to the 1912 edition of the personal memoir of John Doddridge's son Joseph Doddridge. Joseph Doddridge's daughter Narcissa added that appendix to the Joseph Doddridge memoir.
