The following map shows the beginning and end of the high-risk boat ride celebrated in the 2026 bluegrass song "The Little Shenango." The song is a ballad about two young men who floated down the raging floodwaters of the Little Shenango River in a tiny fiberglass boat during the early 1975 snow-melt. It provides a fast-moving narrative, following the boys from carefree launch to near-disaster, and finally to survival and hard-earned wisdom.
