In the lyrics of the song "Quiet Heroes," the line "A Guardian of the Upper Realm" is based on the Hawaiian "Kiai O Ka Lewa" motto of the 5th Bombardment Group (now the 5th Bomb Wing of the United States Air Force). In English, the motto means, "Guardians of the Upper Realm." Sam McCurdy, one of the subjects of the song, was a member of the 5th Bombardment Group during World War II.
