Introduction
The bluegrass song "Ham on the Run" was inspired by the true story on page 272 of my 2024 memoir "In the Land of Used to Be," which is sold by the Mercer County Historical Society of Pennsylvania. The events in the story took place on and near the Somerset County, Pennsylvania farm of my grandfather Allen Lester Korns back in the 1960s.
