The following photos show the cut stone smokehouse on the Southampton Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania farm of my grandparents Allen Lester & Gladys (Bittner) Korns. It was an attractive little building when I was a kid in the 1950s and 1960s. Allen's father John Wilson Korns and Allen's grandfather Daniel Korns, Jr. were previous owners of the farm.

The following photo shows the west and south-facing walls of the Korns smokehouse. The trellis is on the south-facing wall, as is the entry door. The "Little House" is in the background.
The following photo of the smokehouse and the "Little House" is reproduced from volume two of the 2007 book "A Look At Southampton Township Pennsylvania The Way It Used To Be!" with the permission of Mona Huffman. The individuals in the photo are Mary E. (Geiger) Korns, the wife of John Wilson Korns, and their grandson Melvin Korns. The occasion is Melvin helping his grandmother on wash day; notice the basket Melvin is touching. Melvin was born on April 8, 1926 and Mary died on June 8, 1931.
The next photo provides a closeup view of the Korns smokehouse. The doorway can be seen behind the child in the wagon.
The next three color photos of the Korns smokehouse were taken in 2003. The first photo below features the south facing wall, which includes the doorway.
The following 2003 photo features the northeast corner of the stone smokehouse.
The following 2003 photo features the west-facing wall of the smokehouse. The placement of the short stones can be used to identify the smokehouse in other photos. The entryway on the south-facing can be seen at the right of the photo.
The following photo of children posing beside the smokehouse was provided by Jane (Stevanus) Brocht in 2024. She wrote, "Lannie the girl on the left is me, the boy in back is my brother Ken the twins are my twin sisters Ethel on the left and Esther on the right and your mother. The other 2 girls are Lepley sisters and I'm not sure of their first names. They are Aunts to Sandy Lepley. I didn't know if you had a picture like this. It was taken at your grandparents home. It was probably about 1945. We rented from them a house above them. I started school at the Korn's school just down the hill. Fond memories for me." My mother, Estalene (Korns) Dietle, is the second girl from the right, between the twins and the dog. The referenced "house above them"> would have been the "Little House", which was located a short distance up the hill from the main Korns farmhouse.
