The following 2003 photo shows the bars on the basement windows on the southern side of the Southampton Township, Somerset County family farmhouse that belonged to Daniel Korns, Jr., then to John Wilson Korns, then to Allen Korns. This architectural feature is also present on the house on the nearby Michael Korns, Sr. farm, and I speculate that it is for ventilation.
