These 2008 photos show a closet in the now-uninhabited 19th century Southampton Township, Somerset County family farmhouse that belonged to Daniel Korns, Jr., then to John Wilson Korns, then to Allen Korns. The closet is located under the attic stairs, and was in the south-east corner of the main part of the house. Note the faux wood grain paint on the doorway trim.
Adjacent to this closet was another doorway that led into an attic area over the downstairs kitchen. When I was a boy, that attic area had a number of broken and worn-out rifles and shotguns that had accumulated over the years. One, for example, had been struck by lightning.
