1850 Incorporation of Wellersburg & Jennings Run Rail Road

The information in Chapter 497, below, pertains to the March 1850 incorporation of the Wellersburg & Jennings Run Rail Road. I think can identify several of the individuals who were involved as commissioners. The one listed as "John .R. Bingham", is most likely J.R. Brinham, who had a store in Wellersburg, built the first brick house there, and, according to the 1876 Beers map of Southampton Township, owned a lot of property and/or mineral rights in the area. There was a John Witt who was a local area resident, and I believe that he shows up in the Korns book. G. Ross Forward was the eventual owner of the Wellersburg Iron Furnace, which was serviced by this short railroad branch. He also owned another Somerset County iron furnace.
