Page 120 of the 1949 book "The Genealogy of Michael Korns, Sr. of Somerset County Pennsylvania" indicates that William Alexander Korns was the son of Dr. John Hamilton Korns and his wife Bessie, and states "William Alexander, b. Nov. 3, 1920. Graduated from Harvard in 1943. He is Editorial writer for the "Item," New Orleans, La., and lives in New Orleans. He served with the O. S. S. in China in World War II. He married Louise Schramm on Aug. 3, 1940. Their children: a. Alexander, b. Sept. 10, 1941. b. John, b. March 20, 1945."
