This 1925 photo shows the Southampton Township, Somerset County, PA farm home of John Wilson Korns. This photo was taken before west end of the north porch was enclosed to form a kitchen.
At one time this web page misleadingly stated "This was before the addition was added to the west end of the house.". The error was caught by my mother, Estalene (Korns) Dietle who grew up in the house. The addition was actually in the form of enclosing the west end of the porch, and did not involve adding on to the west end of the house. Before the error could be discovered, the misleading language "was before the addition was added to the west end of the house" was repeated in Roger and Mona Huffman's 2007 book "A Look At Southampton Township Pennsylvania", Volume II.
